Why Don't You Love Me
Why Don't You Love Me
WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME is an unapologetic production that commands attention and demands answers.
Artela’s strength as a lyricist shines through the track, exploring themes of exclusion, pressure and societal expectations that results in a raging hyper-pop extravaganza as empowering as it is unique.
The song explores the anger associated with being misunderstood and excluded. A remix of “Why Don’t You Love Me” by fakehalo will be released soon.
Paralysed in Paradise
“Paralysed in Paradise” is a quirky, bass-heavy track that fluctuates between pop and electronica while turning the tropes of both genres on their heads.
The song was written as an outlet for a childhood trauma, but the lyrics can be interpreted to express the universal experience of feeling oppressed, trapped and like no one is listening; something the Taiwanese community is all too familiar with.
Artela’s debut single “Seven” is a reaction to her experiences growing up. “It’s about the feeling of being watched,” Artela says. “Because I’m different, I draw unwanted attention and it feels like I’m being followed or spied on by society.”
